Flutist Edward Wargo is an active performer and teacher who is currently on the faculty of Marywood University, and is a member of the Northern Tier Symphony and the Wyoming Seminary Civic Orchestra. Mr. Wargo is a graduate of The Manhattan School of Music, and Temple University, where he received the Essie Baron Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement in the field of Music. He studied with Murray Panitz, Harold Bennett and Samuel Baron. Mr. Wargo has performed as principal flutist in several orchestras including the Houston Metropolitan Symphony and the Galveston Symphony in Texas, where he was also a member of the Houston Flute Quartet. Edward Wargo performs regularly with Arcadia’s Bach Festival Orchestra, and with various freelance ensembles. Mr. Wargo's solo and chamber music performances have been broadcast on WVIA-TV and WVIA-FM.
Charles Truitt began studying guitar in 1965. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in guitar performance from the Hartt School of Music, a Master of Arts degree in musicology from Marywood, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in music education from Boston University. His teachers have included Oscar Ghiglia and Michael Lorimer (masterclasses at Hartt), Richard Provost (Hartt), Eli Kassner (University of Toronto), and the late Bunyan Webb (Chautauqua). He is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music through the Music Teachers National Association, and a member of the College Music Society, the Guitar Foundation of America, and the national music honor society Pi Kappa Lambda. Dr. Truitt is a founding member and secretary of the Classical Guitar Society of Northeastern Pennsylvania. He has performed regionally as a soloist and with the Pennswood Guitar Quartet and the NEPA Guitar Trio. He has served on the faculties of the University of Scranton, Baptist Bible College, Lycoming College, and Alfred University, and has been a member of the music faculty of Marywood since 1980. He teaches music theory, world music, classical guitar and directs the guitar ensemble.
